danelle-wolford-gardenHi, my name is DaNelle and I started to take an interest in health when I started to suffer from back pain in 2001. It was a tough time for me, I had worked incredibly hard to reach the last year of nursing school and all of the sudden I was ridden with back pain that made it impossible for me to continue my dream of becoming a nurse.

I decided to stay home with my family and take things easy, but I just couldn’t stop researching what I needed to do to heal myself.

If you’ve ever dealt with a health issue and started to read up on it, you know there’s LOADS of information out there, so much so you don’t even know which path to follow

I felt so stuck on what I should do to feel better. Should I eat a crazy restrictive diet that promised it would lower all my inflammation? Should I visit a specialist in another state and spend thousands? Should I just give up and try to forget I was living in constant pain?

During this journey I had two little kids and a very supportive husband, but I honestly felt lost, confused, and angry at the world for this injustice. I had my life planned out! I was going to be a nurse — maybe even a doctor! How could everything I’d worked for come to a halt so quickly?

It was during this struggle that I decided we needed a change. We found a gorgeous home on an acre lot and we were hooked. On a wing & a prayer we purchased this home and started to dabble in raising farm animals & gardening. As we ate a more whole foods diet, I noticed my issues starting to clear up and from there came the birth of my blog Weed ’em & Reap.

In the beginning, I simply blogged about our life on our new farm, the home renovations, and how I was pretty much the worst goat milker ever – haha!

But as we learned more about growing our own food, I wrote more, and as I learned more about how to reverse disease, I wrote about that as well. The website was an incredible success and after 7 years of blogging — we were officially able to both work from home doing what we love — farming, gardening, & blogging about it all.

Somewhere in the middle of my health journey, I was introduced to essential oils. To say they were a life-changer is an understatement. I’d never really been into natural herbs or anything, but essential oils made it so easy to use plants from the earth and were incredibly effective. I now use them on my animals, kids, myself and really anybody who visits the house haha:)

aboutmepic-editedEssential oils are incredibly budget friendly – something that is very important to us. Using a few drops each time makes them last a long time and has helped us in so many different ways.

I use essential oils to help my muscles & joints, to balance my hormones, improve sleep, ease digestion, in cleaning products, for mood stabilizing, diy body products, pet & farm care, and more. It’s like this whole world of solutions is opened up to you once you start to use them. And the best part is that one oil solves lots of different problems, which is also super budget-friendly.

I created this store for you. I knew that lots of people wanted to try a few essential oils without having to purchase a starter kit, and it should be easy to do that!

As a dōTERRA Wellness Advocate, it’s my job to share about the benefits of oils without pressuring people to buy things they don’t need. Life’s too short to be a sleazy salesman. I want you to feel loved and supported. If anybody has been through hell and back, it’s me. I want you to find solutions, to feel like you’re not alone in your health journey.
